Meeting the President of the United States can be a proud, once-in-a-lifetime occasion — but it can also be plenty nerve-wracking. After all, you've only got one chance to make a first impression with one of the most powerful people in the world.
Of course, if you do screw up and embarrass yourself, you're far from the only one who's ever done so. Very influential heads of state (as well as even other Presidents) have tripped up when it comes to protocol around the sitting President.
From drinking too much, to forgetting your manners, to translating things between languages exceptionally poorly, these are the biggest mistakes people make when meeting the President.
