The Times' Stand Up Jokes Are Responsible for Major Drama

Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars, and the uncensored clip of the attack stopped the whole world. In the aftermath, comedian Kathy Griffin openly worried that other audience members might try similar moves on comics who make jokes they don't like, and many entertainers said they shared her worry.
But attacking a comedian isn't a new thing – it's the wrong thing, of course, but it's definitely been done before.
Beyond Chris Rock and Will Smith, some comics who've had to defend themselves onstage include Jerry Sadowitz, Greg Fitzsimmons, Jim Jefferies, and Sampson McCormick.
